Dear Walmart U.S. Store Managers,

In our commitment to making Walmart the premier shopping destination, we recognize the pivotal role you play in achieving this goal. To enhance the work environment and strengthen our dedication to associates, we are embarking on a journey of substantial investments in your well-being.

Today marks the next stride in this journey as we announce a significant enhancement to store manager wages and a revamped bonus program. Your compensation comprises two components: base pay and annual bonus, and we are bringing positive changes to both.

Firstly, regarding base pay, we are streamlining and increasing store manager wages. With this initiative and upcoming annual raises, the average salary for store managers will elevate from $117,000 to $128,000 annually.

Secondly, we are introducing a redesigned store manager bonus program. In addition to sales metrics, your store's profit will play a more substantial role in calculating your annual bonus. Meeting all targets could now result in a bonus of up to 200% of your base salary.

We recognize that the key driver of job satisfaction is the relationship between associates and their managers. As front-line leaders, you are the backbone of our retail operations, responsible for exceeding customer expectations and serving as the CEOs of multimillion-dollar businesses. You are instrumental in shaping the future leaders of our company.

This investment in you is not just about financial compensation; it's an investment in our culture, core values, and the daily experience of every associate in every store. Your development is an investment in our collective future.

Walmart takes pride in this investment, building on last year's increase in starting pay for hourly associates. As a result of these investments and upcoming annual raises, our U.S. average hourly wage is poised to surpass $18.

Many of you, approximately 75% of our field management teams, began your Walmart journey as hourly associates. I share a similar experience, starting as a sporting goods hourly associate in Washington state. This investment is rooted in the belief that, like me, countless possibilities await you at Walmart.

Your role is pivotal in preserving our culture and fostering the growth of future leaders. You are the driving force behind our associates' ability to create something extraordinary while working at Walmart. We believe in your capabilities and are excited to continue this journey with you.pcoming annual raises, the average salary for store managers will elevate from $117,000 to $128,000 annually.
